          There are other unique details that have come to signify a Davidson home as well. Windows and doorways are framed using a unique "buck" method. Stair cases are hand hewn and marked by intricate carvings and difficult turns. Connections are made using specialized joinery techniques, wooden pegs, or and/or wedges made by hand. Unusually-shaped logs are used in unique ways - sometimes in prominent positions, other times tucked away to be discovered by the curious observer. And logs are so perfectly scribed to fit together that virtually no chinking is required.
